Fellow message board trouble maker, Jay Mageau, took time
off the Classic Funny Car board to drop me a line on his
doings for ‘05. His Canadian-based ‘57 Chevy
alky funny has got new rear wheels thanks to sponsor Tire
Country, new trick heads, and has had a little chassis work
done to help the front end. They run in the IBAA up in the
great white north and hope to snag the title this year.
The IBAA has a 7.50 index like CIFCA but instead of “Dude”
the racers say “Eh?" as in “Take off, eh?”
They hope to traipse down for the March Meet and hint that
a little ‘cack might be in order from them. They also
have a cool website: www.dragracing.ca

Randy Baker sent me a question, and being the flake that
I am, I didn’t get back to him as to whether I wanted
info on all classes or just nitro funnies. Now we all know
how one way I am but, yes, I want to know about ALL of you
nostalgia crazies. So, take a look at his very well-put-together
and professional website: www.nitromadness.com
Mark Hall of Sacto-based Hall Bros. Racing wanted all to
know that the world-famous “Dragterd” will be
back this year in NE1! Hey, he called it a ‘terd,
not me. After a two-year lay-off, The 170” half dragster/half
altered (get it now?) will run all Goodguys and WCTA events.
A Nitro Funny is in the works so the dragterd will have
a For Sale sign on it! Come to think of it, I have bought
a few 'terds in my day.
One of the original Classic Funny Car guys, Army Armstrong,
has a new Charger body ready to go for his potent mount.
Looks like he too might be going into the Classic Funny
Car body business. He adds that ‘68/‘69 Dodge
Charger bodies will be available soon.
Correction! Correction! I like corrections; it means someone
read my column. My personal Top Fuel favorites The Frantic
Fueler team say that I got their website addy wrong in last
month’s write-up. I did. Here’s the correct
one: www.compfab.com.
Hey gang, it’s finally going to happen! Full
