GRAND BEND FINISHES IMPROVEMENTS

Although hampered by the harsh Canadian winter, the Grand Bend Motorplex crew has finished two important projects. Concrete guardrails have replaced the Armco guardrail from the starting line to the 660-foot mark, completing a three-year project to switch entirely to concrete. New Daktronics scoreboards have been installed at the finish line.

FLAT HOODS COMING TO NHRA PRO STOCK

One of the agent’s most reliable sources called to say that EFI may be coming to NHRA Pro Stock as soon as 2005. Word has it that Fuel System Guru Barry Grant is involved in the program. According to the agent’s source if EFI is adopted those racers using carburetors cars would get some kind of weight break or other consideration for the first year then after that EFI and flat hoods would be mandatory. If this is true all the agent can say is “about time” and offer a tip o the agent’s fedora to Barry Grant. [5-5-2004]
