MORGAN TESTS TIRES?
One of the Agent's operatives called in to
report that Atlanta runner-up Larry Morgan was
spotted at Norwalk, Ohio on May 18 testing slicks
without any lettering. The operative reported
to have seen a Mickey Thompson Tire truck in
the immediate area of the Mopar team's transporter
and the Goodyear slicks sitting on the ground.
The Southern Nationals Pro Stock pole sitter
ran competitive 6.80's on the mystery meats
at the private track rental test day. (Ron

LVMS 'MIDNIGHT MAYHEM' GETS

Friday night program averages 430 participants
and has been steadily growing since its inception
in 2002.
The Agent's hat is off to Chris Blair and the
Drag Racing Operations staff for finding a class
that is popular with participants, spectators
and the media. Interesting that a street racing
event gets the press, not an NHRA or IHRA national

PSCA HEADS SOUTH
The Pacific Street Car Association will invade
SoCal's California Dragway in Fontana May 22-23
for the inaugural California Street Car Nationals
with heads-up, bumper dragging doorslammers
and a full index bracket program. PSCA runs
6.50 "Street Machines" and seven-second D.O.T.
cars with a total of nine classes and, according
to Director Mel Roth, is offering $2.5 million
in contingency payments from 45 different aftermarket
manufacturers.
Gates open at 11 a.m. on Saturday and at 8
a.m. on Sunday. A special Friday test-n-tune
session will culminate with a "closest to dial-in
