MALLOY SETS CECIL
COUNTY TRACK RECORD
Bob Malloy drove his direct drive H-D
Top Fueler machine to his second track
record in as many races when he ran a
6.60 at 208.00 mph during qualifying at
Cecil County (MD) Raceway during the first
round one of Top Fuel qualifying at the
Screamin' Eagle Race Series. Unfortunately,
Malloy shredded the drive belt during
the first round of eliminations, making
him a first round runner-up. (Greg

PRO STOCK NEWS
The Agent heard a rumor that Mike Edwards was going to bring out a second Pro Stock Cavalier for the 50th Indy race with popular 1980's driver Frank Iaconio at the wheel. However, a call to Edwards, who was driving his transporter to Sonoma for the Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals, quickly quashed the rumor. Edwards said it would be nice if that happened, but as far as he knew there was nothing being planned.
On another Pro Stock matter, team owner Larry
Morgan said at Denver that as of the 18th of
July he hadn't received payment from Don Schumacher
for his team and that "it definitely isn't a
done deal yet." Probably the check was just
in the mail and Morgan hadn't been home to Ohio
to check his mailbox. [7-27-2004]
READER RIDE: 7/8THS STREETABLE
We recently got some photos from John Creekmore
of his 7/8 scale '57 Chevy street-legal car.
The chrome-moly frame car was built by Tim Takash
of Winter Park, FL and features a Scott Shafiroff
632 c.i. engine running on pump gas. Because
the carb stuck up through the hood and blocked
visibility, Creekmore built a low-rise electronic
fuel injection unit. The interior is as original
as possible. The car has electric windows and,
since he lives in Florida, Creekmore had air
conditioning installed. Of course. [7-27-2004]
