MISC ITEMS FROM THE AGENT'S
NOTEBOOK
Agent 1320 hears that the Goodguys Vintage
Drag Racing Assn. is going to require that the
injected, small block powered A/FD run the tall
injector stacks next season so that they will
look period specific. He also hears that sanctioning
body is considering mandating a purpose-built
MSD 12 amp with a built-in rev-limiter to help
prevent engine explosions.
Speaking
of Nostalgia, the Agent recently saw some photos
of the newly renovated Tulsa Dragway. The Agent
competed at the old track when the NHRA held
their World Finals there and later when it was
an AHRA track under the ownership of Gerald
Pritchard. The Agent was happy to see that the
new owners are going to retain the covered grandstands,
replacing the old tin roofs with canvas. The
Agent was saddened to see that they did tear
down the unique circular tower that was a copy
of the old Orange County tower. (DRO

BILLY GLIDDEN MATCH RACE?
A couple of the Agent's operatives from the
Houston area called with the news that Billy
Glidden and Jeff Naiser might square off soon
in a $10,000 winner-take-all match race. As
you no doubt know, Glidden runs a nitrous oxide-injected
small block Ford and Naiser a small block Chevy
nitrous combo. So far the deal is just in the
"double-dog dare" stage but if these two do
square off it could be entertaining. The Agent
will keep you informed. (Jeff
