NHRA offered
a Quick 16

at the recently

the class.
The winner
ended up being
Scott Pocaro
in an 18-second
Toyota Camry.
Surely somebody
forgot to get
the word out
here. Who goofed?
The Agent has

GET BACK, JACK
Australia's Kath Stevens is touted as being
the first female to drive a Top Door slammer
(Pro Mod). She's wife of Brett Stevens who
runs one of the most professional teams in
Australia. The team is supported by Jack Daniels
liquors and has both cars and Top Fuel Harleys
according to the Agent's operative.
Wonder if they have ever heard of former Pro
Street and current Pro Mod driver Annette Summer
down under. Sounds like a match race to the
Agent. [10-5-2004]
'BEST ENGINEERED' TO PROJECT
4-LINK
Project 4-Link won Best Engineered Open Wheel
at the IHRA Division 5 E.T. Finals. It's probably
the only car to ever win Best Engineered awards
two years apart at an E.T. Finals. Jok Nicholson,
DRO Bracket Editor and driver of the project
car said, "Really, it is a tribute to
Jim Pulliam's forethought and expertise as
a chassis builder."
The dragster also had its best e.t. and speed
with a 7.49 at 179 mph. [10-5-2004]
BURK GETS ABROAD
Drag, Rod and Classic Review (www.DRCRreview.com)
is a new Internet magazine covering American
car culture, aimed primarily at the UK and
mainland Europe. Drag Rod and Classic Review
employs journalists from both sides of the
Atlantic to provide the latest stories on drag
racing events, street rod shows, feature cars
and recent happenings on the American car scene.
Editor Andy Kirk appealed to DRO Editor Jeff
Burk's ego and persuaded him to contribute
a column to the current issue. Ahh, the Burkster's
ever-expanding sphere of influence. . . . [10-5-2004]
