DUNN, PULDE STILL GOT IT

ESPN commentator Mike Dunn took off the tie, got his firesuit out of mothballs and made some laps in one of Don Schumacher's Fuel Floppers at Las Vegas, joining part-time driver Dale Pulde. Both Dunn and Pulde showed they are still skilled shoes.

It must be especially hard for Dunn who has made no secret of the fact he would like to get away from the microphone and back in a racecar. (Ron Lewis photo) [1-31-2005]

MSD IS IN THE CHIPS

MSD Ignition, El Paso, Texas, has acquired Superchips Incorporated of Sanford, Florida. Superchips Inc. is the leading manufacturer of performance programmers, modules and chips for late model production based cars and trucks, which creates an ideal fit with MSD's dominant position in the ignition performance and racing aftermarket. The two performance companies will complement each other's technology base and advance their capabilities in performance electronic controls and components.

"The acquisition of Superchips will accelerate MSD's plans to enhance its product line and provide access to technology outside our current capabilities," MSD Ignition's CEO Dan Gresham stated. "This is not a complicated acquisition. Superchips has capabilities that will accelerate MSD's growth and MSD offers strengths to augment Superchips. It's a win-win situation." [1-31-2005]
