TOP SPORTSMAN CLASS DISCONTINUED
AT SUPER CHEVY SHOWS
Due to the lack of participation by Top Sportsman racers
in 2005, the Top Sportsman class will not be contested at
Super Chevy Shows in 2006. AutoStar Productions suggests
these racers enter the Flowmaster Bracket Race Series in
Bracket One in 2006. [11-23-2005]
I T'OUGHT I T'AW A. . .
The Agent’s buddy Bob Plumer
dropped this shot of Bob Rosetty's new Vega Funny Car in
the old email box. With Circus Paint and Glen Designs Lettering,
this Chevy big block-powered alky FC makes for a "period
correct" beauty. Rosetty will be making some of the
East Coast nostalgia flopper shows next season. [11-23-2005]
HAMSTRA CHOOSES AUTOMATIC FOR PRO
MOD COMPETITION
Jason
Hamstra will try his hand at a full year of IHRA Pro Modified
competition in 2006. The 18-year-old from Demotte, IN, ran
some AMS series races and the Jeffers Midwest Quick 8 shows
in 2005, his first year in a Pro Mod. The '63 Corvette from
G Force Race Cars will have the only automatic transmission
in Pro Mod competition. The Agent will be watching to see
how it fares. (Jeff Burk photo)

LUXURY CAR SHOW IN ANAHEIM
Well, no, it doesn't really have anything to do with drag
racing, but the Agent was intrigued by the news of the largest
modified luxury auto show in the U.S -- XM Satellite Radio's
VIP Auto Fashion presented by Valvoline Synpower. The show
will bring one-of-a-kind Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis,
Mercedes, BMW's, Cadillacs and more to the Anaheim (CA)
Convention Center on Dec. 3 from 1-9 p.m.
In addition to nearly 400 world
class luxury and European show cars competing for awards,
the show will have -- this is what got the Agent's attention
-- a sports bar featuring poker tables, multiple plasma
screens broadcasting college football and motorsports events,
as well as "recognizable sport spokesmodels and celebrity
poker players."
Among the exotic cars on display will be a million-dollar
V12 Ferrari ENZO, a 220-mph Porche 959S, and the Moller
International Sky Car personal vertical takeoff and landing
(VTOL) vehicle. Of special interest will be the Asanti Diamond
Series wheels with over 12,000 diamonds and 800 sapphires
totaling 1,100 carats of precious stones per set. The set
of four are priced at $1 million. Each buyer receives a
free Bentley GT with purchase. (And maybe one of those recognizable
sport spokesmodels?) [11-23-2005]
