FUNNY CAR IN TONY'S FUTURE?

After winning the 2005 NHRA Top Fuel Championship, Tony Schumacher's future goal is to drive a nitro Funny Car. He started out in an alky funny car with the Peek Brothers and when he blew up the body moved over to an alky dragster and then into the nitro dragster ranks.  Citing his father Don's successful Stardust floppers, Tony wants to move over to a nitro funny car in the near future to have a little more fun with a car that more difficult drive. He didn't mention if US Army crew chief Alan Johnson has the same interest in returning to floppers. (Zak Hawthorne photo)  [11-09-2005]
