MOROSO READIES
FOR '5-DAY'
For bracket racers, the middle of November means there
is only one place to be: the S&W Race Cars 5-Day Bracket
Championships held Nov. 15-19 at Moroso Motorsports Park
near Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Scott Weney (above), whose S&W Race Cars company
will be title sponsor of the event this year and next,
is no stranger to the 5-Day himself. He won in 1998 and
2001. Other sponsors of the 24th annual event are Shafiroff
Race Engines (day 4) and Jeg's Mail Order (day 5).
Here are last year's 5-Day Bracket
winners. Will the Overall Champion, Brian Folk of Durand,
IL, be able to do it again this year? Among opponents
expected attend are Anthony Bertozzi, David Rampy, Scotty
Richardson, Kenny Underwood, Peter Biondo, and Jeg Coughlin,
Jr. DRO will keep you updated on the results.
Next on the agenda at Moroso will be the Citrus Nationals
Nov. 26-27, but more on this later. The Agent is thinking
that a Thanksgiving turkey deep fat fried on the Florida
beach might be a pretty good idea. He's working on a recipe.

BACA, HENKELMAN TOGETHER AGAIN
David Baca has nnounced the signing of friend and former
partner, Rick Henkelman as crew chief for the 2006 season.
Henkelman joined the team immediately following the Las
Vegas Nationals and put together the tune-up for the Pomona
Finals. Baca qualified third with a pass of 4.485 at 324.28
mph and reached the semifinals.
"After going our separate ways in 2004,
things just didn't move forward without Rick," Baca
explained. "Some of the choices that I was forced
to make in 2005 I wish I could replay and do it my way.
If I could have done it my way, and it was my sole decision,
Rick would have never had to leave. But that's hindsight
and I'm just glad to see that Rick Henkelman and David
Baca are back together again."
Henkelman began crew chief duties for Bill Windham and
the Big O Tires A-Fuel team in June and will continue
there as well. [11-10-2005]
