COUGHLIN BOYS IN THE NEWS
Jeg
Coughlin Jr. will be bracket racing in a 1967 Chevy II
wagon with a 420 cid small block Chevy. The car is being
out-fitted by parts found throughout the JEG'S catalog.
Veteran bracket racer Kenny Underwood is helping with
the build in the JEG'S shop in Delaware, Ohio. The fabrication
work is being done at Jegster, which is located at the
original JEG'S location on 11th Avenue & 71 in Columbus,
Ohio. Jeggie will be building the engine for the car --
his first attempt to build a powerplant.
Jeg and John Coughlin will also be racing a newly built
dragster from Forester Enterprises at bracket races around
the country. John will continue to race his JEG'S Mail
Order Chevy Cavalier in Super Stock in 2006.
Jerry Bickel is building a new Chevy Colbalt for Mike
Coughlin to compete in Top Sportsman. Troy is having Jerry
Haas build a Pontiac GTO for Pro Mod competition.
The Agent heard some rumblings about JEG'S and Don Schumacher
Racing, so we decided to go right to the source to get
the answers.
According
to a spokesman for JEG'S, “We have some very fun
and exciting things in store for 2006 that concern the
JEG'S brand. We will continue to build upon the current
relationships we have in the sport of NHRA Drag Racing
that are family oriented. JEG'S is a family business with
family values plain and simple.
"Some of the marketing partnerships JEG'S will have
this coming season will include Carrier Boyz Racing Top
Fuel car (Cory McClenathen), Cagnazzi Racing’s Pro
Stock (Erica Enders), John Force Racing, Morgan Lucas
Racing, and Pro Stock biker Steve Johnson Racing. These
partners will be carrying in-car cameras throughout the
2006 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.”
So, the Agent can assume that you will not see any of
the yellow and black JEG'S decals on any of the DSR vehicles.
