ODDY AND BILLES MAKING TEXAS TOUR
The Agent has learned that Jim Oddy and his new driver Al
Billes will debut both their newly painted Summit Racing
Equipment '53 Corvette and Dodge Stratus in April. The Stratus
will debut Mar. 31-Apr. 2 at the IHRA season opener at San
Antonio Dragway and then the team will go to Houston for
the Mar. 8-10 AMS/TLR series event at the NHRA national
event at Houston Raceway Park.
The Agent hears that Billes has been on the dyno since
the end of last season working on his 29 percent overdrive
engine combo. [2-21-2005]
WHAT A BARGAIN
The Agent couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a published
report that the average sponsorship for a Nextel Cup NASCAR
team is $15 million per year. For that money somebody could
sponsor the complete NHRA series, field a couple of fuel
teams and have some cash left over. Kinda puts things in
perspective doesn't it? [2-21-2005]
