MARCH MEET SCHEDULE CHANGE?
The Agent hears that the first round of Top Fuel at the
March Meet is to be run on Saturday night instead of Sunday,
despite the Goodguys claim that "With so many entries,
we'll only have time for two qualifying runs." The
rumor is that this was a device by the Goodguys to get the
AA/Fuelers to run Saturday night. The AA/FD's racers "organization"
allegedly threatened to boycott the final qualifying session
(Saturday night), so now there is an 11th hour decision
to run the first round of the 16-car show on Saturday, leaving
only eight cars for Sunday. [3-8-2005]
HAMSTRA SNAPS UP CAR
Kevin
Hamstra has bought the former Snapcase Pro Mod of New York
racer Mike Stawicki. The Corvette will be driven by Hamstra's
son Jason on the IHRA and NHRA AMS/TLR circuits. The team
took a Brad Anderson Hemi out of Mick Snyder's Funny Car
to power the Vette.
Stawicki's new '67 Camaro will be finished at G Force Race
Cars in mid-April. [3-8-2005]
