BURNT OFFERING
It
wasn't a good weekend for the Bobby Lagana Jr. team, as
a fire left their Dually a burned out shell. Ya can't win
if ya can't get to the race, so the Scarsdale, NY-based
team is looking for a replacement. Anyone with a loaner
vehicle or a good deal can contact Lagana at topfuel141@yahoo.com.

AMS PRO MODS IN THE NEWS
There will be no sophomore jinx for driver Jay Payne.
Not only did he get his first AMS/TLR title at Gainesville
but he also set the absolute speed record at 236.03 mph
in his defeat of Mike Ashley in the final round on Sunday.
Speaking of Ashley, he joined the 230-mph club when his
Chuck Ford-tuned 'Stang went 230.00 in testing at Gainesville
on Sunday.
Freshman driver Cody Barklage, who turned 17 years old
last June, succeeded his brother, Zach, as the youngest
and fastest doorslammer driver by recording a first round
lap of 6.14/232 in his new 2005 Jerry Bickel-built GTO.
Agent 1320 hears that even though Roy Hill crashed his
new Mustang at Gainesville he isn't discouraged. Word to
the Agent is that Jerry Haas will rebuild the Mustang and
it will come back with a nitro engine combo for ADRL competition
and an alky combination for AMS/TLR competition. [3-21-2005]
