FORMER DRO STAFFER GETS MAJOR AWARD
All-star freelancer, CompetitionPlus editor, and former
DRO staffer, Susan Wade, entered an interview she penned
for DRO with Ford legend Carroll Shelby and it received
a second place award at the annual AARWBA awards. Magazines

required to pay to join the AARWBA,
then go through a submission sequence and learn the secret
handshake to be considered for one of these awards. You
know how we at DRO feel about joining the mainstream
media, so we've never submitted. Congratulations to Susan
Wade for winning the prestigious award, which we believe
is voted on by a pretty exclusive panel of our peers.
And by the way, Mr. Editor of CompetitionPlus, remember
this, in the words of the great Rick Flair concerning Ms.
Elizabeth and Randy "Macho Man" Savage, "She
was mine before she was yours!" [6-1-2005]
PRUDHOMME SAYS NO TO PRO STOCK
The agent heard that there is a rumor going around (that
started when someone saw Don Prudhomme and Bill Jenkins
exchanging phone numbers) that the Snake was interested
in adding a Pro Stock operation to his stable and that
it would be the Dave Connolly/Bullet Motorsports team.
A call to the team to check out the rumor got a resounding, "I'm
not interested in a Pro Stock team," quote from Prudhomme.
Additionally, the Agent's sources close to the team say that
the Carrier brothers look good to keep the team going and
that GM may help a little just to keep Mr. Connolly in the
car. Makes sense since the factories don't seem to have trouble
supporting young racers' careers over in NASCAR.
