DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS
A tip of the Agent's cap to Dave Wallace and reader Steve
Justice for pointing out errors in Jeff Burk's recap of
Don Prudhomme's career. In 1965 the Snake won at the helm
of Roland Leong's Hawaiian car, not the Greer-Black-Prudhomme.
. .and a few other things.
DRO's resident historian, Chris Martin, must have been
out to. . .umm. . .lunch when it came time to proofread
the story. Well, we always know the surest way to get correct
information is to let our readers into the process. Check
out the letters section to see all the new info. [5-17-2005]

Mike Rice has been named the Division 7 Director effective
immediatelY. Rice, who is currently the Division 6 Director,
will relocate to NHRA's corporate headquarters in Southern
California.

of June but will maintain his duties in both divisions
through the completion of the transition process when NHRA
names a new Division 6 Director.

working part-time with the NHRA in the mid-1980s, serving
as a starter and technical inspector in the Northwest Division. [5-17-2005]
NHRA REORGANIZES SPORTS COMPACT PROGRAM
NHRA has announced a new organization for their Xplod
Sport Compact Racing Series. Javier Ortega will continue
at NHRA as executive director, reporting directly to Tom
Compton.
Joshua Peterson has been hired for the new position of
general manager of sport compact racing. Petersen most
recently was a product analyst for the Pontiac-GMC Division
and for three years before that was program manager for
General Motors Racing Division's front wheel drive drag
racing program. Peterson will report to Gary Darcy, senior
vice president of marketing, with "a reporting line" to
the senior director of technical services, Don Taylor.
Gary Raasch, director of sports compact marketing, will
continue to work on sales and marketing initiatives. Raasch
and Jim Skelly, director of competition, will report to
Peterson.
We're working on an organizational chart, to help you
keep track of who reports to whom. Or perhaps a seating
chart for the department heads meetings. Oh yes, the Agent
certainly misses the corporate world. [5-17-2005]
