One of the Agent's sources reports that Don
Schumacher driver Antron Brown (at left with teammate Angelle
Sampey) could be driving something other than a motorcycle
in 2006. A source informed the Agent that Brown already
has taken possession of a new firesuit to replace his leathers.
Whether the suit is legal for drivng a Pro Stock, Funny
Car or Top Fuel car isn't known since Schumacher has all
three in his stable. (Zak Hawthorne

NHRA NATIONALS EVENTS
GOING LIVE IN 2006?
The Agent hears that NHRA fuel racers have been told that
at 2006 national events, instead of just the final rounds
being broadcast live, there is a good chance the entire
eliminations will be broadcast live. That may be part of
the reason that NHRA is strictly enforcing their oil-down
rules to the point of possibly giving Fuel Funny Car regulars
like Jack Wyatt and Gary Densham one race suspensions for
too many oil downs. Supposedly after a sixth oil down during
the season a racer can be denied entry to one or more events.

Seems the Agent was a bit, ahem, misinformed on where Wayne
Dupuy was going. The talented crew chief will soon be tuning
Doug Herbert's Top Fuel dragster.
"We've already been working with Wayne as part of
the deal we had with Joe Amato and when I found out he was
planning on leaving to go work with another team I did everything
I could to convince him to work with me," Herbert said.
"Wayne has been part of the major changes we have made
to the car this year and he's familiar with the team and
the car and I think it will be a real smooth transition.
"I really like Rob Flynn and I hope he bounces back
with another team real soon," Herbert said. "This
is a performance-based deal and the timing wasn't perfect,
I will agree, but I didn't want to miss out on a great opportunity.
I don't think either Rob or myself was happy with the performance
of the car and I think Rob just got caught in the middle
of this deal because of timing."
Former Herbert crew chief Rob Flynn is now seeking employment.
Not wanting to press his luck again, the Agent has no clue
where he is going. [6-21-2005]
