IRWINDALE SPEEDWAY GETS 5 YEAR EXTENSION;
STILL STUDYING DRAG STRIP
The Irwindale (Calif.) City Council adopted a five year extension
of the existing Conditional Use Permit for Irwindale Speedway. No
decision will be made by the Council regarding the proposed eighth-mile
Irwindale Drag Strip until at least mid-June after the City Planning
Committee finishes gathering facts. Irwindale is located about half-way
between Los Angeles and Pomona.

Yeah, drag racers do it in four seconds, so how about a quick round
of golf? If you're going to be near Gateway International on June
20, you can participate in the Drag Racing Online "Wide Open" Golf
Tournament. Cost is $75 per person, which includes a golf cart. (You'll
have to bring your own nitrous kits) No rules, no handicaps (well…except

HERE'S EUROPE'S QUICKEST TRUCK

The truck owner is Fredrik Fagerström from Sweden and the team name
is Fast Freddy. It has run 6.57. The truck was built by Bars and has
a 526 BAE engine with a helix blower.
OH NO, IHRA CALENDAR PIN-UP BOYS?
IHRA has licensed SuperStars of Racing, Inc. to produce the "2002
IHRA SuperStars of Drag Racing Calendar" and they are looking for
suggestions of drivers to be included. The Pro classes of Top Fuel,
Funny Car, Pro Mod, Pro Stock and Nitro Harley will be featured in
