In a separate, regularly scheduled teleconference to which he was hastily
added, NHRA president Tom Compton said that the announcement came as
"no surprise to NHRA." Compton also said the sanctioning body is in
the process of acquiring a new sponsor and has many prospects but is
searching for a new title rights sponsor that will meet NHRA's requirements.

E-TOWN FACING MORE NOISE LAWSUITS
As if the Winston deal wasn't enough bad news for drag racing, Agent
1320 has learned that E-Town (Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown,
New Jersey) which went through a series of lawsuits over noise in the
past is going to have to go back to court.
The Agent has learned that an individual named Feldman, who (according
to the Agent's source) was responsible for the original lawsuits, has
been documenting the track's violations of the 10:30 p.m. curfew imposed
by the judge in the original lawsuit settlement. Rumor has it that the
man, who lives in the nearby town of Manapalan, NJ in Monmouth county
instead of Old Bridge Township has gotten the case re-opened because
of numerous (alleged) documented violations by the track of the curfew.
