IHRA UPS CUBIC INCHES FOR NITROUS PRO MODS
Unless you happened to go to IHRA's site and clicked on the rules section
(as the Agent does occasionally) this little bit of rather significant
information would be unknown to you. According to the posting on the
IHRA site, the line in the rulebook concerning Pro Mod engine displacement
is changed, increasing maximum allowable cubic inches from 711 ci to
716 ci. The Agent's question is: As long as IHRA is increasing the cubic
inches why not really give the nitrous racers a break and make the limit
816? [12-23-2002]
A '57 BUICK ROAD MASTER AND THE RETURN OF BOB RIEGER...SORT
OF
California Racer Kip Dupuis recently took delivery of a '57 Buick Road
Master built in Tim McAmis's Hawk Point, MO race car shop. The Agent
had heard that the car was originally going to be a '57 Oldsmobile but
morphed into the Buick you see here. According to the Agent's sources,
Dupuis bought most of the Hemi engines and parts that Bob Rieger had
for his '57 and will be putting them between the rails of this behemoth.

One
of the Agent's operatives told him that Rieger's ultra-trick McAmis-
built '57 Chevy (that ran in Pro Mod last season and was later converted
to a Turbo car after Rieger became disenchanted with the class) has
been bought by East Coast racer Steve Salvador who bought and raced
Jim Oddy and Fred Hahn's old '53 'Vette "swing-arm" car last season.
Supposedly the '57 had to go back to the McAmis shop to be retrofitted
for a blower motor. [12-23-2002]
