MSD AND JEGS POST CASH FOR DRO QUICK EIGHT AT WORLD SERIES OF DRAG RACING!

At last year's DRO-backed Quick 8 race at the World Series of Drag Racing the winner took home $600. There was also $100 awarded for both the Top Speed and Low E.T. This year thanks to the largess of MSD Ignition and JEG'S HIGH PERFORMANCE MAIL, the winner and runner-up are going to get nice little bonuses in addition to the $600 winner and $300 runner-up money. JEGS will pay the winner an additional $250 with $150 for the runner-up and $100 for low elapsed time. MSD has posted $200 for the winner and $100 for the runner-up. Bring your best stuff, buckle up and run for the cash.

This race within a race is for non-professional Sportsman racers who want to run a heads-up, Pro Tree race where there are no breakouts and no whining is allowed. Competitors will get three qualifying laps on Friday including one under the lights. Eliminations are on Saturday in front of the huge World Series crowd with the pro cars.

Rules for the DRO Quick Eight:

1) The program will be a heads-up, run-what-ya-brung, Pro-tree race with three rounds of qualifying on Friday and eliminations on Ssturday in front of a standing room only crowd.

2) No race cars that DRO or Cordova Dragway officials believe to be legal TAD, TAFC, Pro Mod, or Pro Stock cars (including UDRA cars) will be allowed to compete. If we think your car is illegal or violates the spirit of the class, you won't be allowed to compete. No exceptions.

3) Cars must comply with NHRA minimum safety requirements!

4) Just as last year, Nostalgia AFD, Fuel Altereds, or Fuel Funny cars are welcome and nitromethane is a legal fuel. Pro Nostalgia Top Fuel cars are not legal.

5) No whiners allowed! Don't like the rules? Don't come. Don't call; we aren't changing the rules! This deal is for fun and to line the deep pockets of DRO and Cordova Dragway Park's Scott Gardner (lol).

As last year, qualifying money will exceed the entry fee. Winner will get $600; Runner-up $300; Semis $200; and first round runner-up is worth $100. Top Speed and Low Elapsed Time: $100 each [7-31-2002]
