ON SUNDAY!
If you happen to be in the Yorba Linda, California
area on Sunday, Dec. 7, drive on over to John
Force's Holiday Car Show. More than 500 street
rods, muscle cars, antique and

classic
cars, motorcycles, custom trucks, race cars
and specialty vehicles will be on display. In
addition to Force, the celebrity lineup also
will include Gary Densham, Gary Scelzi, Ron
Capps, Cory McClenathan, Tom "the Mongoose"
McEwen, Del Worsham, Jerry Toliver, and the
four John Force Racing crew chiefs.
John Force Racing is located off the 91 Freeway at the Weir Canyon/Yorba Linda
Boulevard exit. Turn right on Savi Ranch Road, right on Mirage and then follow the
signs for parking. Spectator admission is the donation of a new, unwrapped $10 toy for
the "CHiPs for Kids" drive. California Highway Patrol officers will be on site to collect
the toys for later distribution to kids who otherwise might not have a present under the
tree.

RAFFA INTO HALL OF FAME
Famed
drag racing journalist John Raffa will be inducted
into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame
in Gainesville, Florida next March. Raffa, seen
here with his wife, Karen, will be presented
with the prestigious Founders Award in recognition
of his major contributions to the field of photojournalism.
In addition to several other print magazines
over a distinguished career, Raffa contributed
to Drag Racing Online at the beginning of our
existence. You can check out his "1319 Notes"
in our archives.

NICKELSON CROWNED NITRO COUPE
CHAMP
Dan Nickelson won his second consecutive championship
in the AutoZone Super Chevy Show Nitro Coupe
Series. Nickelson, of LaVerne, CA, started the
year with a new C5 Corvette, but after problems
with the car, returned to his 2002 championship-winning
Beretta and took the points lead on the very
next race. Nickelson received $10,000 from Muscle
Machines and $5,000 from AutoStar Productions,
producer of the AutoZone Super Chevy Show series.
