BOB GLIDDEN BACK IN PRO
STOCK...AGAIN
Agent
1320 received this shot of Bob Glidden working
with Pro Stock veteran Mark Pawuk during NHRA
pre-season testing in Tucson. Pawuk made a
best run of 7.07/194, which was the quickest
and fastest Pro Stock at Tucson.
"Mad Dog" made an attempt to return the driver's
seat at last year's Winternationals driving
a Larry Morgan car, but gave that up after
a couple of races. He made a few appearances
on the NMRA tour with son Billy and actually
drove a Mustang at one race. The Agent hopes
that Glidden has found a niche with the Pawuk
camp. Pro Stock needs personalities like Gliddenís.

DRAZY'S
NEW BLOWER
Norm Drazy is known for his work developing
and manufacturing screw- compressor type superchargers
for alcohol engines under the name PSI. The
agent heard last year that he was working
on a standard Roots type 14-71 supercharger
for Top Fuel cars. Rumor has it that John
Force, Cruz Pedregon and Tony Schumacher all
tried the new unit during testing at Phoenix
and Tucson. (Photo by

NHRA TOP FUELERS TO COMPETE
AT SAN ANTONIO?
Agent 1320 has heard from a reliable source
that two and maybe three NHRA touring Top Fuel
teams will make IHRA's opening race at San Antonio
which is scheduled for the last weekend in February.
The Agent's opinion is that despite the fact
that those teams will have to pay an entry fee,
the possible race payday and the IHRA points
fund may attract more NHRA teams to the IHRA
circuit. If the NHRA Top Fuel teams do well
at San Antonio, the Agent figures the chances
are good that they may attend the IHRA event
at Rockingham the week after Gainesville and
then decide if they will run the rest of the
IHRA tour. [1-30-2003]
RECTOR
HANGS UP DRIVERS SUIT, PICKS UP WRENCHES
Jimmy Rector, the 2002 IHRA Funny Car champion,
has decided he likes working a race car from
the outside better than the driver's seat. Last
year, in addition to driving his own Holbrook
Performance Parts-backed car to five consecutive
event wins and his second championship, Rector
also set up driver Mitch Stott's Pro Mod.
This year instead of driving, Rector will become
crew chief on the Ethanol Performs Funny Car
team of Mark Thomas in addition to wrenching
for Stott's Radiac Corvette. [1-30-2003]
