RAY ALLEY EXPANDS ROLE TO INCLUDE PRO STOCK RACING

Ray Alley, NHRA director of Top Fuel and Funny Car Racing, will now expand his role to include the Pro Stock Racing category. Alley, who is entering his fourth season with NHRA, will interact with Pro Stock teams, race car builders and product manufacturers on issues involving new technology, rules enforcement and future planning for the Pro Stock category. CASTROL NAMED PRESENTING SPONSOR OF MOPAR CANADIAN NATIONALS

Castrol has signed on as presenting sponsor of the 4th Annual IHRA Mopar Canadian Nationals to be held May 30-June 1 at Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada.

In 2000, IHRA had its first national event at Grand Bend Motorplex, creating growth into the Canadian market. The Hooters IHRA Drag Racing Series now holds three national events in the country: Grand Bend, Toronto and Edmonton, Alberta.

"Castrol Canada has been a constant in Canadian motor sports over the last couple of decades," said Grand Bend Motorplex track operator Ron Biekx. "When other companies have bounced in and out, Castrol was always there and they are still here today. I count on three things: death, taxes and Castrol supporting the drag racing community."

The Drag Racing Association of Women will host their 7th Annual Golf Tournament during the NHRA Gatornationals. The tournament, presented by the Car Craft All-Star Drag Racing Team, will be held March 12 at Ironwood Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.
