Annual Northern Nationals August 8-10 at U.S.
131 Motorsports Park in Grand Rapids (Martin),
Mich. The race will officially be known as--take
a deep breath--the Bethesda Softworks Northern

for PlayStation 2 and Wireless.
In 1999, IHRA and Bethesda released the PC
version of the IHRA Drag Racing Game, followed
by PlayStation and PlayStation 2 versions. A
new version for Xbox is due in mid-November
just in time for the holiday season. The IHRA
Drag Racing Game is the most successful drag
racing game ever, ranked as one of the five
top-selling games in the United States.
Getting a sponsor for a national event a week
before the date? Oh well, better late than never.

ANOTHER JOHNSON REPORT
Agent 1320 has been told that long time nitrous-guru
and road man for the Holley NOS brand, Steve
Johnson, has left that company and moved over
to the Edelbrock group. Holley's loss is definitely
Edelbrock's gain. Johnson is well liked and
respected by the

'DEAR DIARY'
DRO has talked veteran sports reporter and
occasional contributor to DRO, Susan Wade, into
another caper. Readers may remember when Ms
Wade conned the folks at GM out of a brand new
Camaro convert at the U.S. Nationals a couple
of years back and they had her deliver it to
an unsuspecting couple in the Seattle area.
DRO asked Susan to keep a written and photographic
diary of the trip and we ran a very popular
series on her trip across half the U.S. Well,
we've done it again. We going to send her to
the U.S. Nats a week early and have her submit
a series of reports from her unique perspective
from a week before the race starts until she
gets on a plane after the last remnants of clutch
dust and nitro fumes settle. You can look for
Susan's diary in the special section of DRO
beginning soon. [7-31-2003]
