WILL IT NOW BE THE ARMY OF
TWO?
A while back Agent 1320 speculated that Angelle
Savoie was going to get a sponsorship from the
U.S. Army. Look for team owner Don Schumacher
to announce the deal at a mysterious press conference
just announced for Thursday, July 17 at Denver.
Remember that you read it here first. [7-14-2003]

NEW HOT ROD FOR FULLER?
Agent 1320 hears that veteran Top Fuel shoe
Jim Head may be ready to hang up the firesuit
and join the likes of Connie Kalitta and Don
Prudhomme in the role of team owner/tuner. The
Agent's source says that veteran driver "Hot
Rod" Fuller may be in line for

SCRABA TRIPLE DIPPING AGAIN!
DRO has managed to rope yet another Canadian
writer and drag racing journalist into contributing
to this magazine. Veteran tech writer and Stock/Super
Stock racer Wayne Scraba starts contributing
to the magazine this issue with a tech story
that relates to this month's safety theme. Check
it out by going to the Tech section and clicking
onto "Buckle up and live."
Wayne joins current Canadian-born staffers
Ian Tocher and engine builder Scott Walker.
Welcome aboard, Wayne, and remember our motto
when you submit those invoices: "We have no
money; will you work for T-shirts and hats?"

ODOBAN LEAVING NASCAR. IS
NHRA NEXT?
It's been reported recently that the OdoBan
company recently severed its contract with the
Winston Cup team that it was backing. Is that
a sign that they are going to take that money
over to drag racing where they can get a lot
bigger bang for their buck? The Agent bets that
Roy Hill's OdoBan-backed Pro Mod team hopes
so. [7-10-2003]
NMCA IN TROUBLE?
DRO has been told that the NMCA series may
be having some serious financial problems related
to the fact that they haven't had very good
weather (rain-rain-rain) at many of their events
this year. The result has been that some prominent
racers either aren't getting paid or worse.
Rumor -- and we stress the word rumor -- has
the sanctioning body in danger of folding up
at the end of this season. Weather can be a
cruel mistress if you own a sanctioning body...just
ask Billy Meyer. [7-10-2003]
