BARRY GRANT RESTRUCTURES RACE
TEAM
Barry
Grant, president of Barry Grant Inc and owner/driver
of the Barry Grant Pro Stock Racing Team, has
announced an immediate restructuring of the
team's operations. Terry Adams has been released
as the team crew chief and as the driver of
the second Barry Grant Cavalier. Also leaving
the team are Debbie Adams, Chris Bell and Kenny
Tom.
The team will campaign only one Chevrolet Cavalier
with Grant at the wheel for the remainder of
the season, beginning with the resumption of
qualifying at the US Nationals on September
5. Longtime racer-tuner Buddy Ingersoll will
assume the duties of crew chief, assisted by
crew members Billy Wallick and Kenny Lee.
"Buddy Ingersoll has had a great career as
a driver and has served with Warren Johnson
as well as other leading Pro Stock teams. I
feel this combination will help bring my goals
for the team into sharper focus." Grant continued,
"Our engine program from Frank Iaconio has been
excellent and this strong relationship will
be completely unaffected by this change.
"Additionally, I have purchased and taken delivery
of a brand-new Jerry Haas car, and the initial
testing runs have proven it to be very fast.
I cannot wait to get it into competition." (Jeff

NHRA ANNOUNCES '04 SCHEDULE
Get out your calendars and start booking those
flights now. NHRA has released the schedule
for next year with just a few date changes.
Highlighting the 2004 schedule is a move to
a later opening date. The K&N Filters Winternationals
will launch the season Feb. 19-22, at Pomona
(Calif.) Raceway.
Another change on the schedule is the K&N Filters
NHRA SuperNationals at Englishtown, N.J., which
moves from its current mid-May date to June
17- 20.
"The biggest change in the 2004 NHRA POWERade
Series schedule is the move of the opening race
weekend to the middle of February," said Tom
Compton, NHRA president. "By doing this, it
will allow the teams more time during the off-season
to prepare for the NHRA POWERade championship
chase."
