FORCE STARTS GARAGE-MAHAL
The wrecking ball started swinging recently
at the headquarters of John Force Racing, in
Yorba Linda, Calif. Once set up perfectly for
a two-car team, and later combined with a fully
equipped CNC-machining center, Force's "Garage-Mahal"
is bursting at the seams. Plans

call
for an expanded front showroom, including an Elvis-themed
room, additional space for the machining department,
and an enclosed addition for what is now used
as a rooftop parking area for more museum space.
With all three Funny car teams on the road,
the main shop area has been relegated to storage
of excess equipment and old Mustang bodies stacked
like cord wood. From what we understand, this
part of the operation will be remodeled as well,
since that's where a new stable of 2004 Mustang
Funny Cars will be readied for battle. John's
targeted completion date is for early December,
just in time for his annual Holiday car show.
Once this project is completed, the emphasis
will move across the street to Force's other
property, where a new hotel (Extended Stay America)
has just been completed. Over there, plans call
for a car-themed restaurant, steak house, and
office building. This will complete the "ForceLand"
project in Yorba Linda.
And if you thought this deal was massive and
time consuming, Force Racing has also just broken
ground in Brownsburg, Indiana, for its new Eastern
race shop and second RaceStation store. Will
John be adding more teams in order to fill the
space?
