Team owner Tim Arfons (son of jet car and land-speed record racer Art Arfons) and rider Mike West were at Darlington (SC) International Dragway this spring with the world's first jet motorcycle featuring symmetrical thrust on both sides of the rear tire. The bike's frame was custom built by R.E. Engineering, near Niagara Falls, New York, and a single 1,300-horsepower turbojet engine from a CH-46 Army helicopter supplies the power.
