This photo sent by Bill McDonald was taken at Palmdale in 1965 or 66. It is supposed to be the first time two big rigs ever ran the quarter mile, at least in California. Homer Henard is in the Kenworth, which had a 318 Detroit Diesel with 80 injectors and A-timed. He smoked the Peterbuilt, who was puffing black smoke.
