How we winning so far?

After 10 events (5 PSB), let's look at how the 4 Pro categories are winning.  The tables below show the 4 types of win/loss and win/loss records by round.  I selected the drivers who have won at the most rounds this year.  Each table is sorted by most rounds won.

Here are a few notable notes by class:

First, Top Fuel...There has been only one holeshot in TF...Bernstein and Dixon have only lost once in the first round, when Dixon gets past the first round, he's good until the final round (he hasn't lost in the 2nd or 3rd round)...he's is 33-4 so far...hard to believe that 30 different drivers have qualified at 10 events so far!

Funny Car...There have been 12 holeshot wins in FC...Force and Worsham owning 3 wins each via the lig hts and Cannon, Bazemore, and Force each taking 2 losses...Another interesting stat is that Densham has won 11 rounds because his opponent aborted their run, the most in the class...Adding another stat to Densham's great year is that he is 9-1 in the first round...his past two year's first round records are 2-14 in 2000, 11-11 in 2001.

Pro Stock...The theme this year is holeshots and diversity...nearly 25% of the rounds won have been on a holeshot...never has any previous year been this high...Marnell (5-2), Edwards(5-1), Alderman(4-1), Jeg(4-0) have been the leavers...WJ(1-5) and Jim Yates(2-6) have been left on...Allen is perfect in the 3rd and 4th round...Jim Yates has only lost once in the 1st round...WJ has outran his opponent 13 times...Yates is the only 10 time qualifier to not have won an event and WJ is the only 10 time qualifier to not have qualified #1.

Pro Stock Bike...Savoie dominates the st ats...13 times outrunning her competition...the bad news is that 2 of her 3 losses were on holeshots...Brown, Savoie, Gann and Treble are perfect in the first round...one final note, 20% or the wins in PSB are attributed to redlights!

Stat Trivia and Other Notable Stats:

Tim Wilkerson's stats continue to impress...he's averaging a 4.6 qualifying position, 2.4 average rounds advanced per event, 4.940 et, 301.83 mph.  Very good stats for a limited funded, one car team!

Here's your trivia question...Who has the best holeshot records since 1990?

Don Prudhomme has one of the best TF holeshot records since 1990.  He was 10-3.

Del Worsham (15-5) and Tony Pedregon (14-5).

Here's the best of any pro class - JEG an amazing 44-8!!!!

I don't think these stats surprise you, but the shear numbers may.
