TOP ALCOHOL DRIVER OBTAINS AID FROM DRAW AND GETS A SPOT ON A & E “DRIVING FORCE SERIES.”

or those of who have watched “Driving Force” on A & E Television you have seen this driver crash while racing against Ashley Force. It is amazing when you see a crash it only last a few seconds. The destruction to the vehicle and driver usually takes more than a few seconds to recover. Florida speed shop owner of Auto Pro Racing, Don Fiorelli, brutally crashed his Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Gatornationals held in Gainesville, Florida. Fortunately the event was not too far away from home, which made it slightly easier.
Here are a few questions we asked Don about his accident and how DRAW helped him through this difficult time.
Q. What did the support DRAW provided to you do for you during your recovery?
A. I found the DRAW people and the organization to be very supportive through out the entire time. It gave me a mental relief to know DRAW was there to help us out during the down time when my business remained closed during my recovery period.
Q. What injuries did you sustain from the accident and how is your progress now?
A. My current injury… I broke my leg in two places. The bones have healed fine. The welling and the pain are less and less each day. The Doctors tell me that this will continue for months. Not being able to walk on my leg for two months left my foot and ankle weak.
Q. Your accident has been seen on DRIVING FORCE. How difficult was this to watch? What goes through your mind when you see the accident?
A. DRIVING FORCE episode… it did not really bother me, however several members of my family saw it and did not until that time, realize that the crash was so severe. It upset them. We had played down the incident as not worry them so much. I do though, understand what my wife, Denise, had seen from the starting line and felt bad for her.
This year unfortunately we will not blessed with Don racing Top Alcohol Dragster at the BIG DADDY of them all, NHRA US NATIONALS. Due to the injury Don was forced to put his racing operations on hold while he concentrates on his health and recovery. The support of D.R.A.W. will be there during his recovery.
