Erick and his record-holding 1995 Honda Civic coupe are on tour right now. The All Motor Honda defeated the East Coast finest at the IDRC Atco, New Jersey event and out-ran his competition by a full second. Best timers of 10.65 and 127 mph with no nitrous, just brute power! Next event for the Southern California team is the IDRC Englishtown, NJ race, and we hope to have full results from that one. It is kind of like the LA Lakers and the New Jersey Nets. Go Lakers! (Call me a "homer" - it's okay.)

When I asked Erick about the V-8's now racing in the Sports Compact/Import wars he answered, "The cars are great, but they do belong in their own category, not against the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder cars, unless its just a match race. NHRA did the right thing by placing these awesome and powerful V-8's in their own category. I would love to build a super fast car in the future for myself, but it will be powered by a Honda."

Erick believes there might even be Import Funny Cars in the future. "They are already building some," he said, "and I can see this as these have been the feature are for big NHRA National events, so why not?"

Erick not only is an expert at putting together a Honda engine, but he and his crew are the guys to straighten out any computer problems. He also says that 98 percent of his work is on street cars, but that the two percent racecars are instant winners. Erick has not only drag race cars, but also SCCA sports cars like Don Wilson's Honda type R running and many others. Jeff "Kiwi" Owen from New Zealand handles the awesome type R (That was not a typo, this car is not an Intregra type R as it came directly from Japan.)
