WORST RUN

Fred Hahn's 6.179 run., because it almost cost the Oddy/Hahn team the World Championship. It was so good IHRA changed the rules to slow the team down. (JB)

Any of those runs where John Force exited his ol' hound-dog and proclaimed for the waiting cameras, "I don't know what happened to ol' Tony! We were truckin' along side by side and all of a sudden he wasn't there!" Give it a rest, champ! (JL)

BEST TRACK FOOD

Mid America Raceways in Wentzville, Missouri has fabulous, fresh, hot, jumbo hot dogs, handmade burgers, large drinks reasonably priced, and water for a buck. (JB)

Love those charburgers by the ticket, as presented by Cordova Raceway Park. Call me looney, but ya gotta hand it to anyone who sells their food the same way they sell their thrill rides. (JL)

$1.00 beer at Cordova (CM)

WORST TRACK FOOD

Any of the overpriced heat-lamped, nuked, overpriced bland food offered up at NHRA, CART/NASCAR events. And let's not forget the 75-cent per ounce racetrack beer at these same venues. (JB)

Memory fails me, but it must have been whatever I ate at Topeka this year. You see, Texas Red's Barbeque wagon didn't show up for Y2K. Bummer! (JL)

The main concession stand at Indy. Chow at its absolute blandest. Never, ever ate a McDonald's hamburger that tasted less like a McDonald's hamburger than at this shrine to culinary mediocrity. (CM)

BEST RACE-SITE TOWN

St. Louis. World class gentlemen's clubs, horse track and casino within 20 minutes of the track. Ditto for some of the finest restaurants and music clubs in the midwest. And the airport is 30 minutes from the racetrack. (JB)

Didn't get out enough this year to give an informed vote, so I'll vote for my town, where the couch is soft, the AC is cold, and food doesn't make my wallet bleed. (JL)

Indy. There's lots to do, good food, and a great downtown. (RL)

The Strip at Las Vegas…accoutrement plus.

Personally I like Dallas or Memphis, but how are you going to bet against Las Vegas, the best little whorehouse in Nevada. (CM)
