The Quick 16 title was taken by Travis Bussin's '92 Civic with an 11.746/116.53 over Jorge Llaguno's 12.222/117.92.

Long-time division racer Jeff Barrett and his VW- powered digger (the only dragster at the event) qualified third with a 10.00 on a 9.99 dial, but was defeated in the second round.

Charles Walker competed in a 1997 Integra.

The deceivingly titled Super Mod class, consisting of stock passenger cars, was won by Karla Watts and her 16-second '99 Amiga with Larry Doty and "The Dog" (October's NIRA event winner) runner-up.

The screaming sound of nitrous-injected rotary motors and front wheel burnouts take a little getting used to if you're more a fan of typical American muscle, but you cannot deny that this is drag racing, and it's as much fun to watch as any other.

Moroso Motorsports Park is a popular winter warm spot on the racing scene. Here are a couple of "Snowbirds."
