The Import/Sports Compact scene is not only about on-track racing performance. Car shows are important, too.

Here's some shots from the DUB show in San Bernardino. I believe I said last time that they had 10,000 plus spectators; try 22,000! Great show, guys. Here are some car photos.

The EXTREME AUTOFEST show was at the Pomona Fairplex. This great show did not have as many fans or cars (about 300) but the "Finest Bikini" contest was incredible, plus the street dancers put on one hell of a show. (Oh, okay, here are some non-car photos; but we swear this is the last time.)

I'm looking forward to the NOPI Import show at Palmdale (LACR) June 22-23. It should be a fantastic turn out, so if you are in southern California, come on out to Bernie's Place! NOPI is a huge company that is devoted to the Import scene so let's support them!

As a fairly new columnist, I would really appreciate any input that you readers can give me. Would you like to see more focus on individual racers, opinions, complete interviews, or just race facts. E-mail me at tmarshall29@hotmail.com or at imports@racingnetsource.com. Check out the Features section of this issue of DragRacingOnline where you will find a story on Honda racer Erick Aguilar.

One more thing. I want to thank Doug Stokes, the PR man at Irwindale speedway/drag strip, for inviting the media to a day of fun at Irwindale speedway, as yours truly got to go for a ride in a Super Late Model with Wally Pankratz, a former top notch sprint car driver who is now still competitive, but teaching at the Performance Driving school run by Joe Otto. That was great fun, but I'm still a die-hard straight-liner!
