RADIAL DRAG SLICK FROM PHOENIX

Phoenix Race Tires has moved into the Stock Eliminator and E.T. Bracket Racing arena with a new 9.00/30.0-15 radial tire. The 92.5-inch circumference tire weighs only 23 lbs. -- significantly less than conventional bias-ply slicks. The tire, which can be run tubeless, employs Phoenix's highly effective "F9" compound. It is designed for use on 10-inch wide rims, has a 12.5-inch section width and a 9-inch tread width.

PRE-PROGRAMMED FUEL INJECTION

ACCEL/DFI announces the availability of a Plug-N-Play Pre-Programmed Fuel Injection System for 350, 454, and 502 GM crate engines. This system is perfect for street rods, street machines and sport trucks, providing direct hook-up for crate engines with no fuel calibration or lap-top needed. It also allows flexibility to change with your engine conditions.

The Plug-N-Play systems allow you to enjoy all of the advantages of Fuel Injection: including increased horsepower and torque, better driveability and dependability, improved fuel economy, and lower emissions. These systems have the flexibility to be reprogrammed to accommodate bigger cams, larger throttle bodies or different heads. Five basic systems are available for the GM 350, 454 and 502 Crate Engines. Other systems in development include the Ford GT40 and Chevy ZZ4 engines. For more information visit the DFI web site www.mrgasket.com.

AIR HITCH SMOOTHES BUMPS

The Advanced Air Ride Hitch System uses heavy duty air bags to absorb the shock, bounce and vibration that usually come when pulling an RV or tow vehicle with a hard connection hitch. Sliding up and down on solid steel tracks, assisted by space age composites for smooth fluid movement, the Advanced Air Rid Hitch allows the trailer to rock back and forth on its natural axis. Every receiver hitch comes with a standard bracket that allows ball height to adjust up of down 4 inches. For more information contact Advanced Air Hitch, Inc. 1549 Sand Bar Ferry Rd., Dept. DRO, North Augusta, SC 29842. Phone 1-800-642-9367 or go to www.advancedairhitch.com.

DRAG RACING BASICS

Drag Racing Basics, Christmas Tree to Finish Line is a new book written by Cindy Crawford (no, not that Cindy Crawford) that offers a basic overview of the sport, primarily for the prospective or novice driver. Topics covered include driver training, race technique, car equipment and preparation, necessary safety equipment and towing options. Sections about track layout and procedures will help acclimate newcomers, as will the discussion of major racing sanctioning bodies and their classes. Also contained are chapters on sponsorship, junior drag racing, and women in the sport. Capping it off are a listing of active tracks in North America and Europe, racing-related addresses and websites, and a glossary of drag terminology. Available from TPR, Inc., 7510 Allisonville Rd., Dept. DRO, Indianapolis, IN 46250, 1-800-553-5319. The website is www.tpr-inc.com.
