Nitro Cloud

By Ian Tocher

Nitro cloud, stinging cloud,

Yellow orange, engulfs the crowd.

Choking throats, stinging eyes,

Makes little ones and grown men cry.

Eager fans, pressing near,

Staccato bursts assault the ears.

Sweet, sweet sounds to those who know,

They're all just parts of the show.

JIM'S WIN

By Bob Fisher

When Oakley brought Scotty and Mater to race

There were stories flyin' all over the place.

At Pomona they showed up with raincoats and the sun was out

All the rest of the teams said, "What's that all about?"

It was mentioned they wanted a million dollar race

I think maybe they're glad that never took place.

But after the entry and the dust settled down,

Mater, Jannard, and Scotty you knew would be around.

Brought everything they needed when they came to the show

But it takes a little extra, but how'd they know.

Jim said, "Hey we ain't goin' away."

And everyone knew he'd get that Wally some day.

It might have taken a little longer than they had planned

But on the third of August '03 Jim had one in his hands.

A lot of things happened between the race and Scelzi's win

But from the friends that you made here, we say, "Good job, Jim."
