A Visit from Santa
It's the night before Christmas and you know where I am --
Out in my shop degreeing a cam.
There's a lot to do; hope the money lasts
Cause Pomona's not far off and time for the first pass.
Don't think about the money, it'll just get you down.
I'm gonna be at Pomona; I'll just take it round by round.
It's gettin late I think I'll go in,
But just think if there was a Santa -- the list I could give him!
Well, it's almost midnight, I'm gonna try to get some sleep.
But just think if Santa was your sponsor, you would be plenty hard to beat.
I wonder if any one ever asked him what would he say.
He must like fast stuff -- look at his sleigh
There's a half bag of Oreos and a couple diet Coke's.
I think I’ll make a list just for a little joke.
Turn out the lights, the list is done.
If Santa brought this in his sleigh he'd need more than one.
I'm layin’ in bed, just got to sleepin’
When what was that that noise? Sounded like tire's screechin’.
You don't hear noises like that ‘round here late.
But the next thing I knew the clock said it was eight,
So a shower and some coffee. Felt just like new
And back out to the shop cause there's plenty to do.
So as I'm walking to my shop out back
Noticed what looked like two black tire tracks
I opened the shop -- hope everything's alright
And almost fell over when I turned on the light.
A brand new block, a couple o’ cranks,
Mag drives with mags -- the ones with big amps.
Floaters and clutch discs and pressure plates too,
Pistons and rings and two drums of fuel.
With a note from Santa saying, From you know who.
And the rest of the note, well, it read like this:
You gotta believe in Santa and you gotta make a list
So you finally took the time to make that list at last,
Now go out to Pomona and for Santa kick some a**!
