Quick 8 ever assembled. The number-eight qualifier
was Dale Brinsfield, substituting for Richie
Stevens.
"Flyin'
Bryon" Rich and "Christine," his
1958 Plymouth Fury, were among the three entries
named to the Flowmaster Outlaws team through
Internet voting. Rich qualified 34th of 52
cars on Saturday with a 4.173-second pass at
171.36 mph.
Columbus, GA's Dan Parker had the quickest
nitrous entry at Dragstock, but a career-best
4.085 at 177.92 was only good enough for 15th
place in qualifying and he didn't make the
cut for the Outlaws team.
