Continuing the Gulf Western Oils sponsorship is the Sainty Family entry, driven by Terry, son of Stan Sainty, one of the true innovators in the Australian scene. Most of the components of this car are manufactured in the Sainty workshop in western Sydney, including the continuously evolving Sainty 3 valve overhead cam billet engine. With a miniscule development budget I strongly predict this team will crack the four second barrier this season.

Transplanted Brit and multi-time champion in the alky ranks in Europe and the holder of two alky and two fuel championships down under, Pommie Steve Read continues the 2004/5 season driving for veteran team owner Santo Rapisarda, and the team are gradually getting their own handle on the ex-Amato Racing dragster that took Dunn to the first 300 mph at the WSID's debut last season.

Making a welcome return to top flight competition, Darren di Filippo made it through to the semis at the East Coast Nationals and it's hoped that the reappearance of the di Filippo family car will attracted sponsorship to enable participation through the current season.
