Nostalgia Funny Cars are the "next big thing" in drag racing. The whole Nostalgia Nitro Funny movement got its first hint of legitimacy when "Berserko" Bobby Doerrer organized and promoted an event for them at Englishtown Raceway Park a couple of years back. Since then the cars have not only become a fixture on the West Coast as part of the Vintage Racing Association, but have started to be seen more often east of the Rockies.

The first "real" eastern event that gave fans of nitro and nostalgia a chance to see these cars was at the annual Monster Mopar Weekend at Gateway International Raceway, where they were the featured attraction. Even though many of the cars featured bodies and engines that weren't badged as Mopar, there were enough to keep all but the most die-hard Mopar fan happy.

The nostalgia floppers were divided into three groups: "Outlaw" Nostalgia Floppers, VRA-legal cars and nostalgia alky burning flops. Those fans that came to see nitro and nostalgia got a bit of both as well as a "World Record" e.t. for Nostalgia Funny Cars.
