CONCLUSION

The ADRL event at Kennedale, TX proved for the second straight event that as far as distance is concerned size doesn’t matter in drag racing. Like the crew at Jackson, SC, the expert track crew at Kennedale, which included former NHRA World Champion driver Bubba Corzine, maintained a track that hooked as well as any IHRA or NHRA national event facility I’ve ever seen. At both races the track personnel took the condition of their track surface as a matter of professional pride, and the speeds and ET’s delivered at both tracks are a tribute to their skills. Cars don’t run Top Speeds of just under 190 mph in the eighth mile at almost midnight on anything but a first class surface.

Great weather, close racing, fast cars, Bill Hardin’s barbeque and cold Shiner Bock under a Live Oak -- I’m booking my flight for next year's race today.
