"Gary has the weight of the world on him right now, coming in here with the points lead with only two more races left after this one. I know I get nervous before every round, and I was nervous today because we really wanted to make a move to get back in the top ten, but I can't even guess what it feels like to have a 40-point lead with three races left and the championship in the balance. I feel bad for him, that he lost that way, but I'd also like to think that maybe he felt like he really needed a great light to beat us. I know this: you don't see too many guys red light when they think they have a walk-over. They knew they'd get a fight from us." — Burkart theorizing on the reason for his first-round win

“Ace just felt like we didn't take enough clutch out of it. It tried to make it, but the track just wasn't as good as we thought it was going to be. And that's part of the learning curve." — Capps referring to crew chief Ed “The Ace” McCulloch after losing a tire-smoking race against Frank Pedregon in round two

“Since I've been at Schumacher Racing, this is probably the worst day of racing we've had, in terms of trying to win a Funny Car championship and beating Force's group. It's just a black day for us.” — Bazemore referring to the points ramifications of his second-round exit at the hands of Tony Bartone, along with teammates Capps and Scelzi both going out early, too

"I could feel another final round coming, just like I felt the wins in round one and round two, so I was pretty stunned we smoked the tires there." — Worsham on his semi-final loss to F. Pedregon

“We may not have beaten them over the head with our performance this weekend but we’ve been running very strong and working as hard as we can. We definitely earned this semi-final finish.” — Tony Bartone after narrowly losing to Force in the semis

"Obviously he didn't want to go in, and I didn't want to go in. Then I thought he's not that strong yet and I've never seen him burn anybody down. I figured if I waited long enough that he'd give in, but I never expected it to last that long. I don't know how long it was, but it seemed like 10 minutes. I made up my mind I wasn't going to go in. I've never done that before either. I usually give up, and I've seen him before and he'd give up all the time too. I guess we both finally came to the conclusion that we're not going to give up and we're going to go in last. He finally did, so I won the first battle." — Greg Anderson on his unusual final-round match against teammate Jason Line
