LIMITED STREET
Darrin Hoyle, from Taylorsville, NC, established a new Limited
Street E.T. record of 4.835 second at 151.72 mph in a first-round
bye, then earned his career-first championship by beating
his closest points rival, Terry Woodson, with a holeshot
after they both ran 4.87s in the semis.
David Waits started fifth in Limited Street with his flamed
Nova and made it to the quarter-finals, where he obviously
had trouble on the starting line with a two-second reaction
time against championship contender Terry Woodson.
Ringgold, GA’s Randy “The Toolman” Petet
recently swapped out the blower and now goes with a 106
millimeter Precision Turbo on methanol with mechanical fuel
injection in his 1984 Porsche 944. Petet qualified 19th
of 22 cars in the class and went out in the second round
against 2004 series champion Shannon Ragsdale.
