Day 3 results:
It was 20 years ago that the shirtless wonder, Johnny Labbous, Sr., found his way to the Winners Circle of Moroso Motorsports Park. Although he, himself, did not make the trek back, he was able to welcome John Jr. along with a check for $15,000. They are only one of the very few fathers & sons to stake such a claim. It was a tough earned win and it came down to the end. Moroso Motorsports Park is happy to announce another generation of Labbous racing champions. The results are as follows

Moroso 5-Day: Day Three
11/18/05
Jupiter, FL – Like father, like son. That old saying applies to the final result of the third day of competition at the S&W Race Cars-sponsored Moroso 5-Day Bracket Championships. Some 24 years after bracket racing legend Johnny Labbous won a Moroso 5-Day event in his Mopar doorslammer, his son John (don’t call me Johnny) Labbous Jr. drove the family's dragster to the win over Maryland racer David Brodsky. The win made the Labbous the only father-and-son combination to ever both win a Moroso 5-Day race at the same event.
The junior Labbous put a severe beat down on his opponent, coming a .004 light with a .018 over 8.048 on a 8.03 dial. Unfortunately for Brodsky, he had a horrible (for a bracket racer) .038 light and the race was over right then. Brodsky could take some comfort in setting Low ET of the day with a 7.408 lap in the finals. Mike Manners had the Top Speed at 193.09.
Labbous took home a $15,000 check and moved into first place in the overall points battle with 67 points, giving him a slender one-point lead over Jason Lynch.
