The Pacific Street Car Association left the coast for the desert of The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Feb. 25-27 for the Mickey Thompson Tires Winter Nationals. A Midwesterner took the top honors in the Pro class, but California racers more than made up for that in the quantity of other class wins.

Chuck Samuel of Kingston, IL was the Pro Street champ in the Kevin Marsh Racing Mustang, with a 6.59 run at 218.41 mph, which set the new PSCA speed record. He also set Low E.T. of the meet at 6.52.

Ed Thornton's '57 Chevy took on Samuel, but came up a bit short.
