The grind of six races in seven weeks may be starting to take a toll on the Pro Mod drivers and teams chasing points. Texan Frankie Taylor and Zach Barklage are both racing with borrowed equipment. According to some teams they don’t have the funding and crew or parts to stay on the road for a month or more. That may account for the low car count at Las Vegas and their may be other races with similar attendance problems.

The fact that there wasn’t a single nitrous car at Las Vegas may be a concern. Also the much anticipated times that were supposed to result from the new rules that gave a weight break and increased supercharger overdrive for some cars and the introduction of turbo-charged cars hasn’t developed, and Mike Moran’s tremendous explosion at Las Vegas isn’t helping the turbo-charger issue. Next stop for the AMS/TLR Pro Mod series is next week's NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals-- the third of four straight weekends for the AMS/TLR series.
