Todd Paton added a bit
of extra excitement to the racing with a small fire.
It was put out and his string of good luck continued
until the final round. |
Doug Foley's crew worked on the car,
but it failed to fire on the line and they were out in the
first round.
Grand Bend could become Clay
Millican's home away from home, as he's won this event
five of six times. |
The weather kept all racers guessing on Sunday. Cloud cover
and the odd sprinkle delayed some runs, but not long enough
to have anyone running for the exits. The finals had four-time
champion Clay Millican against a hometown hero Todd Paton.
Paton was the lucky one. First round he had a single pass
and in the semi's Louie Allison gave it away with a red
light. Paton's luck ran out in the final as Millican ran
away with it running a 4.681 at 309.98 easily covering Paton's
5.574.
