SPORTSMAN CLASSES

The Rat Fink Camaro of Andy Kirk competes in the single carbed Super Modified class, Kirk dipped into the 7.9's during the Allstars and ended up as runner up to Kev Perkins. The final round shootout had some drama of its own as Kirk's wife's leap of excitement left her foot glued to the track, rupturing some ankle ligaments.

Rick Cooke is a comparative rookie in the Super Pro bracket, but has been running consistent packages all year. The AllStar Nationals saw Cooke almost dead on his dial-in to head qualifying (+0.002 on an 8.500), although a red light handed the event win (and Ultimate Power Track championship) to veteran John Everitt.

Dan Page made an impressive race debut to end up as runner up to Steve Phillips after a break out in Sportsman ET. Given Dan's family background (the Pages are one of the prominent families in British drag racing history, with his late father Dave being a stalwart of the Page Brothers Panic race team, uncle Gary running in Top Fuel on the European circuit and Dan's stepfather Jon Morton is a long time standout on both two and, latterly, four wheels) a big future lies ahead for the second-generation racer.
